Hi everyone!

We hope you have all had a chance to see our fabulous whole School Project SUNFLOWERS, it was so lovely to see lots of you on the whole school zoom to see Mrs Taylor and Mr Holden launch it for us all.

The theme planning can be found on the Home Learning area of our class pages, just click on the SUNFLOWER and the Year 1/2 planning sheet is there along with lots of resources for you to access.

We have still set work on Purple MashBug Club and challenges have been updated on Times Table Rockstars and Prodigy so there is lots to keep you going if you like.

As always there is no pressure from us to complete any of these tasks but it would be lovely to see you on Friday to share in your fabulous SUNFLOWER work.

*1st June 2020*

Hello everyone!

It was great to catch up with some of you last week, it was lovely to see so many of your smiling faces. We know it was half term so appreciated your efforts to join us. We really hope you all had a nice week off in the glorious sunshine. Mr Steer has particularly enjoyed his long sunny walks with Darcey and our girls loved playing in our new paddling pool and on their new water slide which Heidi got for her 3rd Birthday.

It would be great if you could write us a nice email telling us all about your half term and send it to us on purple mash.smiley

This week would have been week 1 of our Summer Term 2. We are continuing with our theme of Paws, Claws and Whiskers. The work we have seen has been so good, we are very proud of you all.

We have now set you some more work on Purple Mash and are also regularly updating Bug Club so you have lots of books to read, well done to those children who have already moved up a reading level - keep it up and keep your eyes out for some of your amazing work on our school twitter account!

We have also set more Maths quizzes on purple mash. We are focusing on time. You can also carry on playing on Prodigy too. We get weekly reports and can see how many questions you get right. Remember to link to our classroom (code 65964E) as we have been setting challenges and love how well you are progressing.

Don't forget to continue looking at the lessons produced by the BBC. The following links should take you to the appropriate year group:

Year 1: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zjpqqp3/year-1-lessons/1

Year 2: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z7s22sg/year-2-lessons/1

As we look towards re-opening school, this website will become more important for children who will remain at home. The Oak National Academy, which is the Government backed website provides video lessons each day.

Finally we have added a Habitat Challenge below.  We have seen how much some of the other classes have enjoyed making their habitats so thought you guys might like having a go too. All the information is in the pdf.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Take care,

Mr & Mrs Steer

You have access to a big selection of books at your reading level with questions for you to answer. We are regularly checking Bug Club and can see which books you have read so will upload more when you complete the level you are on. Let’s see if more of you can get to the next reading level!

In addition to all of the work we are setting don't forget you can access The Oak National Academy, which is the Government backed website which provides video lessons each day.

https://www.thenational.academy/

*21st April 2020*

Hi everyone!

We hope that you are all OK and have enjoyed the Easter Holidays. We have really loved speaking to those of you we have got through to, and we will keep trying those of you we haven’t managed to get through to yet.

First and foremost we would like to echo Mrs Taylors email (we won’t rewrite it word for word!) and say that although we will continue to upload work to Purple Mash and suggest ideas here for you, there are no expectations from us or school about what you do, or don’t do at home.

Our theme this term, had we been in school, would have been ‘Paws, Claws and Whiskers’ that’s right focussing on the BIG CATS of the world.

We have set you various activities to complete on Purple Mash relating to animals with a focus on cats and other wild animals.  We have also set some more Maths quizzes and you can carry on playing on Prodigy too. Please try and link to our classroom (code 65964E) as we can set specific challenges and also see how well you are progressing.

Don’t forget it’s super easy to log onto Bug Club. Your username is simply your first name and surname and the password is password. The School code is: tott.

SO FOR EXAMPLE:

And you will have access to a selection of books at your reading level with questions for you to answer. Each book you read earns you coins which you can ‘spend’ on the site in the rewards section.  We are regularly checking Bug Club and can see which books you have read so will upload more when you complete the level you are on. Let’s see if you can all get to the next reading level!

We have been looking online and we can recommend the BBC Bitesize ‘Daily lessons’ that Mrs Taylor has recommended in her email. Each day there is a Maths, an English and another lesson for each year group.  These lessons are really engaging and are hopefully easy for parents to help their children learn.

The following links should take you to the appropriate year group:

Year 1: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zjpqqp3/year-1-lessons/1

Year 2: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z7s22sg/year-2-lessons/1

In addition The Oak National Academy (which the Government announced this weekend) will be providing video lessons each day.

https://www.thenational.academy/

As we have said there is no expectation that all of this work is completed, we are simply trying to ensure there is plenty of work available if that’s what you require.

Finally, thank you to everyone that has replied to our emails on Purple Mash, we love hearing from you and we hope to see you all again soon.

Mr & Mrs Steer

3rd April 2020

Hello everyone!

We hope that you are all OK. Just a quick message to say that we have sent you all an email via Purple Mash. Head over there to open it, you can even reply to us.

We have also set you some more work on there. Don’t worry though, we have given you 4 weeks to do it, we know it’s the Easter Holidays next week!

P.S. We have also sent a step-by-step guide on how to sign up to Prodigy Maths and join our virtual classroom so head on over there and join the fun.

We really miss you all, but are so impressed by the work you have been completing online, keep it up!

Mr & Mrs Steer

           1/2S Home Learning

We know that this is a very uncertain time for many of you but we just wanted to say "You've got this!" We may not be seeing you every day but please know that we are thinking of you lots and we will be in touch with you all over the coming weeks. We're looking forward to hearing all about your time at home with your families and we hope to see you all as soon as we're all able to.

We know that we gave you lots of work in your Home Learning packs and don’t expect you to have completed all of that yet. We can see that lots of you have been accessing Bug Club, Purple Mash and Time Table Rockstars which is great. Every couple of weeks we will release new books, 2Do’s and times tables for you so that you always have new work to tackle.

Below you will also find some useful websites and some useful reminders about how to access some of the resources we use in school. The BBC Bitesize website in particular has so much learning for you to access.
