  • SEND & Accessibility

At Tottington Primary, we firmly believe that all children have an entitlement to be educated alongside their peers. As an inclusive community, we are deeply committed to removing the barriers to learning and participation that can hinder or exclude individual pupils, or groups of pupils. Inspired by our ethos, vision and values, equality of opportunity is a reality for all our children within school and our dedicated team work relentlessly to ensure that all children have the right to a fulfilling, ambitious learning experience, regardless of need. We have recently been awarded the IQM Inclusion Mark and are becoming a centre of excellence, which will underpin our continued commitment to providing the highest standards for all of our pupils.

If you have any queries about SEND, please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance or call Ms Benz (SENCO) on: 01204 886169

Our 2024/25 School SEN Information Report

Our SEN Information Report highlights some of the key points identified in the Code of Practice 2014 (section 6.79). For more detailed information, please see our SEND and Inclusion Policy here on our policies page.

We are committed to high achievement for all, supporting pupils and families in ensuring the very best of opportunities are available to them.

Here is what two parents of children with SEND have said about Tottington Primary School:

'I’m so happy he goes to TPS. You have all been amazing with him and he has progressed so much as a person under your wing. Your commitment to developing well rounded children and prioritising pastoral care as much as academic achievements is very much appreciated. He feels safe and happy at school and his significant sensory and emotional needs are always met, with kindness and compassion. Thank you!' July 23

'All the team are doing amazing and are far surpassing my expectations. I know I have the option to remain anonymous but the care my child gets deserves recognition amongst all involved with her care.' July 23

Wider Provision:

Children  access targeted provision in the form of activities at various times of the day; these include film making club, choir and football club. We also have a strong focus of pastoral care here at Tottington as we believe it enhances mental health and well-being. Children access to a wide range of pastoral support here at Tottington and it is designed with the the children's needs in mind e.g development of positive self image,  confidence, social communication with the goal of preparing the children for the future. Click here to see our pastoral offer.
