  • The Friends of TPS

The Friends of TPS plays a vital role here at school. It enables essential resources to be purchased that might otherwise be financially out of school’s reach.

But it’s not just about the money. It also gives 'us' the parents the opportunity to meet, socialise and become more involved in our child's school life.

In recent years our ‘Friends of TPS’ has organised many events including Fairs, Sponsored Events, Discos and Easter Egg Bingo!

We don’t hoard our profits. Every pound we raise is ploughed straight back into school.  In the past we have purchased a radio station, interactive whiteboards, the refurbishment of the school hall (including air conditioning, staging, sound system and lighting) and contributed towards the cost of the fabulous deck. Recent purchases include sports kits, musical equipment, furniture, reading books, lockers and book bags for all new starters in Reception.

‘The Friends of TPS’ is open to anybody with the school’s best interests at heart. And you don’t have to come to endless meetings or give up countless hours of your time to make a positive difference to your child’s education. Sometimes it’s a case of serving tea and coffee for half an hour or so after a Nativity Play at Christmas, or making a poster to advertise a Quiz. Whatever talent you may be hiding, we’re keen to use it!

None of us claim to be professional fundraisers but as long as there are enough willing volunteers amongst us, we’ll always get the job done and have a good time doing it!

If you’d like to help, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact the school office and leave your details.

Pre-Loved School Uniform Sale

We ask that any outgrown uniform items which are still in good condition are passed back to the Friends of the school.  They are then laundered, pressed and offered for sale to parents.  It's our way of recycling and helping to keep down costs for families!

Prices are as follows:-

  • FLEECES  £5.00
  • JUMPERS  £3.50
  • CARDIGANS. £3.50
  • PE T-SHIRTS  £1.00
  • SUMMER DRESSES   £2.00

Stock levels change all the time and unfortunately we cannot guarantee availability.  To check if we have a garment in stock, please enquire by email to g.irlam.tps@gmail.com, stating the garment, size and colour, if applicable.   If it's in stock, we will drop it off at school for collection from the office.  Cash or cheques (payable to 'Friends of TPS').

  • School Fundraising If you often shop on-line, then why not try our new fundraising link? TPS will receive a donation every time you make a purchase from our web shop. You will not pay anything extra for your shopping but school will receive a donation for every pound you spend. Click on the link above to find out more and to begin shopping from the comfort of your own home.
