Vision and Values

  • About Our School
  • Vision and Values

At Tottington Primary School, our vision is to inspire and empower every child to 'aim high' in everything they do and be prepared a 'future of possibilities’.

It is our aim to promote a school vision which is underpinned by core values. We believe that it is our role to guide our pupils to become self-aware, self-regulating and intrinsically motivated individuals. These core values support the development of children as reflective learners within a calm, caring, happy and purposeful environment.

Pupils at our school are expected to uphold and demonstrate the four values of our school. We feel these values support children in becoming the best versions of themselves and positive members of our school, local and wider community.

Be SAFE      Be a TEAM PLAYER      Have a good ATTITUDE      Show RESPECT

At Tottington Primary School we strive to ensure the safety and well-being of every child. By promoting the value of be SAFE we encourage our students to make responsible choices, take care of themselves and others, and create a secure environment where everyone feels protected.

We strongly believe in the power of teamwork and collaboration. The value of be a TEAM PLAYER encourages our students to work together, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes. We believe that by fostering a sense of unity and cooperation, our students will develop essential skills for their future endeavours.

Having a positive attitude is crucial for personal growth and success. The value of have a good ATTITUDE emphasizes the importance of resilience, perseverance, and a growth mindset. We encourage our students to approach challenges with optimism and embrace the learning opportunities that come their way.

Respect is the cornerstone of our school community. The value of show RESPECT teaches our students to appreciate diversity, listen to others perspectives, and treat everyone with kindness and empathy. We believe that fostering a culture of respect creates a harmonious environment where everyone feels valued and included.

TPS Star

Our four values form our school TPS star. Children are recognised and rewarded for demonstrating these values.

Local Context Values

As a school we feel it is very important to respond to the needs of our local community and context. Our school team have developed five Local Context Values that we feel will enable our school community to achieve success in school and life. These are woven into all areas of our curriculum in order to give children the best chances in school life and beyond. These are reviewed and amended in response to the changing needs of our community.
